There are a number of on-line good travel consultants you can use to obtain flight availability at competitive prices.

 

Of these, the one we have used successfully several times is www.expedia.co.uk .

 

We found this site very useful as you can select either flights only or, (our personal preference), flights including a car for the duration of your stay.  You can then examine your alternatives and may be able to make significant savings by travelling either a few days earlier or later.

 

These flights often involve a change in Chicago or similar.  This will on the one hand, keep the cost of the flight to a minimum, while at the same time provide a break on the way over.  The overall time duration for the full journey is given on expedia's web page, so can easily see how long it would take and if it will fit in with your requirements.

 

Alternatively, you can examine any Fly-Drive package offered by other discount specialists or the main carriers, (e.g. Virgin Atlantic or British Airways).
